Massif Central: Auvergne regional council launches its "cluster for excellence" initiative (in English and French)

25 Jun 2010

The "cluster for excellence" label ensures every cluster of a funding (at a rate of 40% co-funded by the European Union) for three years, covering, among other expenditures, the employment of a project engineer. These new means, in first place dedicated to human resources, should enable the clusters to launch at least two research projects per year, based on a partnership between companies, laboratories and technical centers. A convention of objectives, signed by the funding parties and the clusters specifies every partner's duties.

The respective clusters are JCEP (Jeune Chambre Economique de la Plasturgie, plastics processing) at Monistrol, Nutravita (food-health) at Clermont-Ferrand, IRP (Institut de recherche pharmabiotique, bio-pharmaceutics) at Clermont-Ferrand, ANALGESIA (pain treatment) at Clermont-Ferrand, Auvergne TIC (IT) at Clermont-Ferrand and E2IA at Aulnat. The seventh cluster, not situated in a mountain territory is MEMA MECATRONIQUE at Montluçon.

Massif Central: Le Conseil régional d’Auvergne lance six « clusters d'excellence »
