The European Mountain Forum's mission is
- to promote the idea, processes and best practices of sustainable development in the mountains of Europe
and
- To raise awareness of the importance of these mountains to Europeans.

EMF aims to be:
- recognized as the leading knowledge network for decision makers and experts on European mountains.
