Workshop "Tracking successful adaptation. Smart monitoring for good results"

We would like to draw your attention to the upcoming workshop "Tracking successful adaptation. Smart monitoring for good results" to be held in Bonn, Germany on 7 and 8 May 2012. Organised by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German FederalMinistry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the city of Bonn, and together withUSAID, DFID and the Adaptation Partnership the workshop focuses on advancing the application of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of adaptation with a focus on developing countries’ perspectives on measuring results.

As one of the first workshops of its kind “Tracking successful adaptation. Smart monitoring for good results" addresses a topic that is very timely in light of increasing climate finance, results-orientation and new processes to support National Adaptation Plans.

At this point we are happy to announce the participation of eminent speakers and numerous organisations including representatives from countries in Asia, Africa and South America, the UNFCCC, the Green Climate Fund, the OECD, PPCR, the LEG, the GEF, and others. The second afternoon will be broadcasted asWebinar via climate-eval with the opportunity to contribute to the discussion from a distance.

This workshop will be conducted in an interactive format to maximize knowledge sharing and thus provides a unique opportunity to share your ideas and to move forward the issue of monitoring and evaluating adaptation.
