North American Mountain Forum (NAMF)
The North American Mountain Forum (NAMF) is the regional network of the Global Mountain Forum serving 49 organisations and 731 individuals. It forms an active knowledge sharing community addressing sustainable mountain development issues in the the Northern American region.
NAMF members exchange information using a discussion list, the Mountain Calendar and the Mountain Forum Online Library. They also participate in electronic conferences on regional issues - such as mountain watersheds - and contribute to international mountain debates and publications such as the Mountain Forum Bulletin and the scientific journal, Mountain Research and Development.
From 2002 till November 30, 2009, the Mountain Culture and Environment department at the Banff Centre, Canada, has been acting as host for the NAMF. They have carried out the task of sharing and exchanging information with like-minded individuals and organizations throughout North America with great pleasure, but unfortunately had to cease this role due to funding shortfalls.
