From 23-25 July, 2007, a network for global change research on African mountains will be launched in Kampala, Uganda. This workshop will outline priority themes and projects for global change research in mountain regions of Sub-Saharan Africa that are congruent with the Global Change in Mountain Regions (GLOCHAMORE) Research Strategy, but adapted to the context and priorities of the sub-continent.

The broad aim of this e-consultation is to bring together knowledge, ideas and suggestions concerning governance aspects of global change processes affecting African mountain environments.

The objective for doing this is to establish a comprehensive "current-state-of-knowledge", and in so doing, provide a "launching pad" for the Kampala workshop. This should then afford us to focus our workshop time on discussions concerning future directions and objectives, and in particular to explore possibilities for proactive future research programs and collaboration between African and international partners.

We welcome potential presenters/participants at the Kampala workshop AND those interested but unable to attend, to participate in this pre-workshop e-consultation process.

Many thanks for your valued participation in advance.
