The on-line climate conferences series (CLIMATE 2008, CLIMATE 2009, CLIMATE 2010 and CLIMATE 2010) pioneered by the International Climate Change Information Programme (www.iccip.net) based at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in Germany, has taken a central role as a major provider of information and catalyst of information exchange on climate change. Attended by millions of people across the world, they have taken a central as cross-sectoral tools of climate chage communication.
ICCIP is proud to issue the first call for papers for the 5th Worldwide Online Climate Conference CLIMATE 2012/KLIMA 2012, to be held on 5-9 November 2012. Take part on this truly global climate-friendly event and use this unique opportunity to present and discuss your work with fellow researchers, practitioners, NGOs and the interested stakeholders from all around the world!
CLIMATE 2012 is being organized in cooperation with UNEP, SIDSnet, AOSIS, WMO, the Sahara and Sahel Observatory and further world bodies. Building on the success of the five previous online conferences (2008-2011) with millions of visitors and hundreds of peer-reviewed scientific papers, this year's interactive, free of charge online event will specifically focus on “Climate Change, Small Island Developing States and Sustainable Technologies”. We encourage researchers from around the globe, in particular young researchers from developing countries, to submit their scientific abstracts online at www.climate2012.de until 15 March 2012 at the latest to the unique CO2-friendly virtual conference, relating to one of the four following categories:
- Category 1: Climate-smart technologies in energy generation
- Category 2: Climate-smart technologies in energy efficiency
- Category 3: Climate-smart technologies in transport
- Category 4: Climate-smart approaches, tools and technological solutions: projects and initiatives on renewable energy in Small Island Developing States
All submissions will be subject to peer review by a scientific committee - we would welcome the chance to receive a paper from you. Visit the conference home page at http://www.climate2012.de to send in your abstract and get a first glimpse of what this unique conference is all about. The deadline for submission of abstracts is 15/3/2012.
Besides online publication throughout the conference week from 5-9 November 2012, the best English papers will be considered for publication in the journal "International Journal of Climate Change Strategies and Management" (Emerald) and/or the book publication "Climate Change, Small Island Developing States and Sustainable Technologies" as part of the Climate Change Management Series (Springer), details on which can be seen at: http://www.springer.com/series/8740 Further, please note the additional opportunity to promote own climate-related projects and publications - we welcome input for the CLIMATE 2012 climate library and project database.
You can apply with studies/reports for incorporation in the CLIMATE 2012 website by sending an e-mail to: info@klima2012.de.
