World Agroforestry Centre

The World Agroforestry Centre (or better known as ICRAF) is a member the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). ICRAF is an autonomous, not-for-profit research for development institution with a mission “to use science to generate knowledge about the complex role of trees in agricultural systems and their effects on livelihoods and the environment and to foster use of the knowledge to influence decisions and practices that impact the poor”. It engages in strategic and applied research to promote sustainable and productive land use through close partnership with national and international agricultural research systems, universities, NGOs and private organizations.
