Transformations in the Colombian Amazon, challenges for the conservation and sustainability

Seldom do decision makers and other interested parties in general have the opportunity to access, through a single document, systematized information on the most important interventions regarding the exploitation of renewable and non-renewable natural resources, projects for industrial crops, as well as infrastructure projects which, in an unparalleled magnitude, are being executed and planned for the Colombian Amazon. Together with the previous contribution, this report also contributes by identifying and analyzing the main social, environmental, cultural and economic aspects that in aggregate could be generating the set of projects for infrastructure and use of natural resources being executed or planned for the Colombian Amazon. The findings and recommendations presented herein will facilitate the decision making process on sustainable development, conservation and use of natural resources in the Colombian Amazon.
