Swat Participatory Council

Swat Participatory Council is the leading civil society organization of mountainous Malakand region in northern Pakistan. Registered under the companies Act of 1860, SPC contributes to participatory development processes at different levels through advocacy and network development to promote positive changes and at the same time creating avenues for regional and global partnerships for collective wellbeing. SPC establishes coordination mechanisms with government line agencies to institutionalize citizen’s participation for ensuring good governance practices in transitional tribal environment. SPC Swat caters to the capacity building needs of the member organizations and other development actors by arranging seminars and variety of training programs. Swat Participatory Council envisages a holistic development of the resource rich Malakand region with an integrated participatory planning approach to resolve outstanding issues of transitional tribal society by bringing in reforms in institutional arrangements in place and empowering people. SPC as a civil society institution different initiative were taken in potential areas with intention of developing in full-fledged programs.
