South Asia Study Centre

Established in early 2000 by youth researchers and social activists from India and Nepal in Delhi, South Asia Study Centre (SASC) was conceived as a platform for researchers and activists of the South Asian region. The main objective of the organisation was decided as to conduct researches on the issues of migrant labours and to act for their welfare and protection of their rights. After the some research among the migrant workers from Nepal to India, SASC focused on the issues of education, health and labour rights of the migrant Nepali workers. Human right of the migrants was another issue on which SASC focused its works. SASC started to work more actively through different projects and programmes among the migrant Nepalese community. Since its establishment, in these few years, SASC has emerged as the premier organisation working on the issues of migrant Nepalese in India. SASC works among the Nepali watchmen, factory workers, domestic workers, restaurant workers and their families.
