New technologies of education in mountain regions

Education in mountain regions is difficult due to the absence of infra-structure and a major aspect of assistance to sustainable development is any form of education, which should be recognized as the process helping people to increase the level of their knowledge and to open their potential to the full. Both formal and non-formal education enables people to solve the problems facing to them in the field of sustainable development. Because of the inaccessibility of traditional methods of teaching a distant form of education, using informative-computer technologies is a unique opportunity for the mountain regions inhabitants to get education. The Contemporary Humanitarian Academy in Moscow has developed and introduced into the educational process the unique means of individual computer training. The school is using distant educational technologies (DET), based on the application of telecommunication (informative-satellite) technology for transfer and TV broadcasting, and also Internet and local information networks for providing access to information educational resources.
