They've worked closely with the Shuar people of the Amazon to preserve their age-old traditions, and helped safeguard water supplies for hundreds of thousands of people. They’ve collaborated with some of the poorest communities in the region to help establish sustainable income-generation activities, and they’re empowering new generations of conservationists through our effective environmental education programs.
Amazon rainforests, rich cloud forests and tropical deciduous forests are critically threatened as never before, making targeted conservation initiatives crucial. Through growing programs in Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Mexico they are addressing these challenges to our natural world and its life-support systems, and continue to make great strides in the protection of unique ecosystems while simultaneously strengthening local communities.
