Mountain Research and Development, Vol 32, No 3 on Central Asian Mountain Societies in Transition: Now available in Russian

For the first time in the history of Mountain Research and Development, an entire issue has been translated. Translation of Vol 32, No 3 into Russian was made possible and carried out by the University of Central Asia’s Mountain Societies Research Centre, who also served as guest editor of this special issue on “Central Asian Mountain Societies in Transition”. Mountain societies in Central Asia have experienced systemic economic, political, social, and environmental changes in the past two decades. This special issue of MRD helps to fill gaps in knowledge and sustainable development practice for Central Asian mountain societies by analyzing current realities and assessing development experiences. Major topics include pasture use and household livelihoods.

The Russian and English versions of the full special issue can be downloaded as single PDF files from the Mountain Societies Research Centre’s website: http://msrc.ucentralasia.org/events.asp?Nid=418
