The Mountain Institute

The Mountain Institute's mission is to advance mountain cultures and preserve mountain environments. Core initiatives include (1) conserving high priority ecosystems in the Andes, Appalachians and Himalaya mountain ranges, (2) promoting environmentally and culturally sustainable livelihoods for mountain communities, and (3) supporting the Mountain Agenda through advocacy, education and outreach for mountain communities.
