Its mission is to advance understanding of the natural systems that create the Earth's weather and climate, by maintaining its hilly weather station in Calore River Basin – Serretelle watershed (Southern Italy) since 1986, as continuing the first records of the close Benevento-historical-station dating back to 1869.
