Review published four times a year, about cultures and heritages of European Alps (and also Alps from elsewhere...) ••••• Written for people looking for information with meaning, L’Alpe is the first review devoted to the many cultures and heritages of Alpine Europe. Its ambition is to provide information, language barriers not withstanding. As your guide, L’Alpe looks at the people who, from the meandering Danube to the Rhône, have adapted to an exceptional climate. A cross between a book and a magazine, it draws on the first to provide background documents on a main theme, supported by rigorous analysis, an insistence on quality and the notoriety of renown authors. From the second, it adopts a quarterly rhythm for regular contributions to current debates, rich illustrations, the insatiable curiosity of its journalists and a necessarily didactic approach. Though rigorous in its approach to knowledge, L’Alpe is not a scientific journal. It calls on the contributions of history, geography, archaeology, ethnology, etc. to shed light on the meaning of the traces left by man on the mountain environment. And it is also open to current debates on the future of the Alps and other mountains in the world. ••••• L’Alpe ist die erste Zeitschrift, die sich ausschließlich dem alpinen Kulturerbe Europas widmet, und wendet sich an eine Leserschaft, die ihren Wissenshorizont erweitern und hinterfragen möchte. Ihr Ziel : über Sprachbarrieren hinweg informieren. Als Forum für Entdeckungen und Begegnungen richtet L’Alpe das Augenmerk auf die Menschen, die sich zwischen Donau und Rhône einem einzigartigen Lebensraum angepasst haben. L’Alpe weist sowohl Merkmale eines Buches als auch eines Magazins auf : Auf der einen Seite enthält L’Alpe Beiträge renommierter Autoren zu einem thematischen Schwerpunkt, die sich durch analytische Klarheit und ein hohes Niveau auszeichnen. Auf der anderen Seite erscheint L’Alpe in vierteljährlichen Abständen und bietet so hinreichend Raum für Diskussionen. Auch die vielseitige Illustration, die journalistische Neugier und der didaktische Ansatz sind Kennzeichen eines anspruchsvollen Magazins. Obwohl L’Alpe sich auf ein solides Faktenwissen stützt, erhebt die Zeitschrift keinen wissenschaftlichen Anspruch ; Geschichte, Geographie, Archäologie und Ethnologie dienen als Rahmen, um Spuren und Zeugnisse, welche die Menschen im Alpenraum hinterlassen haben, richtig einordnen zu können. La sua ambizione è di informare al di là delle barriere linguistiche ; spazio di scoperta e di emozioni, L’Alpe si interessa a tutti gli uomini che, dalla Slovenia al Mediterraneo, hanno saputo acclimatarsi ad un ambiente eccezionale. Punto d’incontro tra libro e rivista, trae dal primo la documentazione di riferimento sul tema principale, il rigore analitico, l’esigenza di qualità e l’autorevolezza di autori prestigiosi. Dalla seconda prende a prestito la periodicità trimestrale che le consente di arricchire il dibattito, il fascino di una ricca iconografia, l’insaziabile curiosità del giornalismo e l’approccio necessariamente didattico. Pur se fondata su competenze rigorose L’Alpe non è una rivista riservata all’élite. Si serve di materiale storico, geografico, archeologico, etnologico, ecc., per rendere alle tracce lasciate dagli uomini in questo territorio tutto la loro profondità.
