Interview with Dr. Ruben Echeverria, General Director of the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), Colombia

In this interview, Dr. Echeverria, Director General of CIAT (Colombia), indicates that a new “doubly green” agriculture is necessary in order to continue the necessary increase in food production, biofuel and other commodities while contributing to the restoration of degraded ecosystem functions. It will be based on a multifunctional use of land that considers not only the production of commodities, but also the provision of ecosystem services and social development.
