International Conference on Climate Change in Arid and Semi-Arid Region

The Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST) and the Ministry of Environment and Green Development (MEGD) organize the International Conference on Climate Change in Arid and Semi-Arid Region, which will be hosted from September 19 to 21, 2013, at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The main theme of this International Conference is climate change in arid semi-arid region. We aimed to conduct an international comparison and verify our research results and perform an interdisciplinary comparison based on the research results obtained over recent years. The conference will focus on the following topics for research issues of climate change and environmental systems:
- Climate change: Global warming, desertification, deforestation
- Atmospheric science: Solar radiation, atmospheric optical properties
- Hydrology and Cryosphere: Groundwater, evapotranspiration, snow, glacier, permanent snow and permafrost
- Environmental science: Land cover change, air, soil, water pollutions, soil erosion
- Disasters and hazards: drought, dust, snow storm, forest and steppe fires, earthquake, flood
The conference is organized by the Mongolian University of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Environment and Green Development, in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Oyut-Odbadrakh LLC and Baigali Tandalt LLC.
