International Centre for Responsible Tourism Canada

Launched on World Responsible Tourism Day 2008 (November 12), the ICRT Canada builds on the reputation and accomplishments of the ICRT Global Network, developing and promoting the concept of responsible tourism in Canada. The ICRT Canada works with communities, the industry, policy-makers, the media and other organizations to achieve this mission and build the capacity of responsible tourism principles in Canada; focusing on rural, aboriginal and northern communities. Particular areas of concentration include cultural heritage tourism development, local economic development and community-based tourism.
