The Current Status of Scientific Data Sharing and Spatial Data Services in China

This presentation has been provided by Dr. ZHU Yunqiang from IGSNRR-CAS, China. In his presentation, he describes the Current Status of Scientific Data Sharing and Spatial Data Services in China.

The scientific dataset should not be considered as the private dataset but the value and benefits of scientific data will be embodied only in its exchange and sharing. Chinese Academy of Sciences believed on the idea of scientific data sharing and in 2001, IGSNRR-CAS started a program to share the metrological dataset. In 2002 another eight scientific data sharing programs were lunched and in 2003, the National Fundamental Condition Platform was setup.
