Centre for Policy Studies and Rural Development (CEPRUD)
The Centre for Policy Studies & Rural Development (CEPRUD) started working since 1993. In the first few years its name was Centre for Police Studies and in 2002 it was converted into the Centre for Policy Studies and Rural Development in order to undertake action research along with consultancy works. The members of CEPRUD include persons having long experience in the civil service and academics and possessing highest accedemic degrees. The main objective of the Centre is to inculcate interest in and stimulate objective and enlightened thinking on a wide spectrum of socio-economic issues which have a direct bearing on Nepal's development. The Centre's interest is especially directed towards providing analytical support to government bodies, donor agencies, INGOs, and private organizations on various national social, economic and developmental issues of their concern relating to Nepal's development and modernization. The Centre believes that a series of sharply focused research studies and assessment of various emerging development issues based on realistic conditions will form a reliable basis not only for reckoning the relevance of current policies and programmes but also for determining their future direction.
