Welcome to the Web pages of the Asia Pacific Mountain Network (APMN)/ International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) E-conference 

Dear Participants, 

This APMN/ICIMOD regional e-conference on 'Renewable Energy Technologies...' aims to bring together knowledge and experiences from mountain areas, particularly in the Asia/Pacific region, serving as a forum for discussion by diverse stakeholders on the key issues related to promotion of or access to renewable energy technologies (RETs) in the diverse but fragile mountain ecosystems. The key questions that lie at the heart of the e-conference are 'Can  RETs be used to improve the standard of living of mountain communities? And if so, how do you create a climate conducive to adoption of RETs by mountain communities of the region?'

We have proposed a broad theme/sub-themes for each weekly discussion as well as a number of possible issues/questions that you could address.
